This is not 2008 !
This is not 2008 !
A lot of savvy investors are looking for 2008 kind of bloodbath so that they can invest in companies of their choice to get superior returns from their portfolios.
But looking back ..one must take a note that 2008 was a peak of euphoria in all asset classes be it risky or safe. Most of them were quoting at astronomical levels with huge euphoria...a small bit of good news was igniting stocks but all the bad news and warnings were being thrown out of the window.
Now..it seems that no one is interested in equities ., although markets are not dirt cheap but they are at reasonable levels of valuations.
Due to high commodity prices, interest rates, US and Europe debt problems equities are now being thrown to buyers at any prices, short selling is going on relentlessly. No body seems to hear any good news but discounting all bad news...just opposite what they they did during 2007-08 euphoria..!

Doomed dollar !

Just keep aside Equity, commodities etc for a while and lets see a very interesting development taking place in US$. This could be very-very positive for all kinds of asset classes in coming future. Last week US$ touched a very very crucial level of 76.5 in its index and had a little bounce ( obviously !). This was fifth time that this index touched a long term support line drawn since 2007-2008.
....Then what?, I don't understand .
OK, what may come are two possibilities
Firstly , that USD index bounces sharply on the upside and almost every asset class falls with its rise
Secondly , that USD breaks this support and fall further . This may ignite a huge surprise rally all across.
Ok , now what do you mean ?.....
do you recall QE1 and QE2 ?!
...ooooooo....those...yes...yes...yes...
They worth hundreds of billion of US$ .
Now they have started talking about QE3 !
This could lead to further depreciation of US$.
Now , guess your self.
